Outlook User Account Assigned a Shared Mailbox, Rules Not Working Correctly
发布时间:2026-09-16 | 浏览:1
I have a user who has been assigned a shared mailbox apart from their own inbox.
I'm trying to create a rule that, when an email arrives to the shared mailbox, it is moved to their inbox, and deleted from the original shared mailbox. When a test email is sent to the shared mailbox, one copy remains in that shared inbox, one appears in the deleted folder, and one appears in the user's inbox.
I have tested this with simply having a rule to delete the email when it arrives to the shared mailbox and roughly the same thing occurs: there will be an email in the deleted folder, and an email still in the shared mailbox.
I have tried repairing office and it didn't make a difference.
I will try to create an Outlook Macro to perform the same function, but have y'all got any other suggestions?

Could you please share with me screenshot page about your current Office version number in private message? Here is the article to know the steps: About Office: What version of Office am I using? - Microsoft Support May I please know whether this is user's email account has been shared as shared mailbox or Office 365 global admin has created and shared mailbox account with user? What kind of permission has been assigned for this shared mailbox? I need to also double check what kind of behavior user is getting on Outlook web application platform? To test this, please temporary disconnect Outlook application from multiple devices and check this scenario on Outlook web application.
