BYD has issued an urgent recall for 32,009 Shark 6 plug-in hybrid utes due to a spare tyre issue. The wheel, located under the car, could detach while driving due to a fault with the support cable, which could increase the risk of "serious injury or death". The recall applies to the Premium, Performance, and Dynamic Cab Chassis models made from August 2024 to June this year. BYD has issued a recall of a popular ute. The recall impacts 28,543 units of the Shark 6 Premium, 2,100 units of the Performance, and 1,366 units of the Dynamic Cab Chassis. "Continued movement and friction during vehicle operation may cause the cable to fail, resulting in spare wheel detachment," BYD said in a statement.
